Bon Traveler

Bon Traveler is a travel blog founded by Jessica Wright that focuses on providing curated guides, travel tips, and unique, boutique luxury travel experiences centered around culture and adventure. The blog inspires readers to travel well and often, offering insights gained from the authors’ first-hand experiences.

Known for stunning photography and crafted storytelling, Bon Traveler has established itself as a thriving digital brand, attracting collaborations with many of the most storied brands and sought-after destinations in the world such as Adobe, American Express, Audi, The White House, Four Seasons, United Airlines, and more.

I am responsible for website design and development, behind-the-scenes business operations, and assist with photography.

Verge

Verge is a golf analytics and performance tracking tool I co-created with one other engineer.

Verge aims to help golfers get better, faster, by making tour-level statistics and analysis accessible to anyone. To do this, we invented a rapid shot entry experience that enables users to enter shot-by-shot data for a round in under three minutes, using any device. Verge then generates instant round-specific statistics and long-term trend analytics, including strokes gained, median leave, and many others, that are typically only available to professionals.

Flexmls

Flexmls is a leading MLS platform serving over 300k real estate professionals and millions of consumers.

As the first in-house product design hire in the company’s 45+ year history, I was instrumental in reimagining the company’s product strategy and design direction.

In addition to leading the product designers and design system engineers, I helped recruit and formalize the product management, and research teams. Together, we worked to re-invent the company’s 15-year-old product suite from the ground up. This included introducing a best-in-class iOS experience, creating a fully responsive design system and UI Component Library to deliver consistent experiences for users and streamline front-end development, and redesigning core web experiences like Navigation, Search, Search Filters, Contacts, and Listing Entry. These efforts fueled record growth and solidified Flexmls’ position as an industry leader.

Sly Flatware

A putter is the only club that can be with a player their entire career. I set out to design an heirloom-quality putter brand that embodies a sense of refined beauty, similar to fine jewelry.

The centerpiece of this brand is the Model 35 putter, crafted from CNC-milled 303 stainless steel with a black oxide finish and gold plated ID Tag insert in the rear cavity. The shaft placement and center of gravity are precisely calibrated for optimal toe weight and roll.

Spora

Spora was a Donations as a Service platform I co-founded with two other engineers.

Spora aimed to boost donations by improving the giving experience for non-profit organizations and their supporters. We accomplished this by creating a self-service experience that enabled non-profit organizations to set up a profile and start receiving donations in minutes, and a streamlined and beautiful giving experience that combined goal-oriented giving opportunities, clear progress updates, one-click donations, and automated tax receipts, using any device.

Humin

Acquired by Tinder in 2016, Humin was a platform designed to revolutionize the way people managed their contacts. As the first Product Design hire, I collaborated with the founders and the engineering team to bring their concept to life, from idea to iOS beta release.

Humin utilized an AI social mapping technology layer to provide personalized suggestions for connections and enable users to search for people based on their natural thought process. The app offered a contextual view of users’ relationships with their contacts, including personal details and organization based on the relationships, instead of alphabetical order. For example, when viewing a contact, users would see a list of mutual friends. We also invented several new innovative user experience gestures, such as swiping contact cards to initiate calls and texts.

DocuSign

Founded in 2003, DocuSign invented the eSignature industry. I joined in 2011 as the second in-house product design hire as part of an organization-wide restructuring that aimed to prepare the company and product for IPO.

I was responsible for modernizing the core web experiences. These included Document Signing, Document Sending, User Sign In, User Dashboard, and DocuSign’s hugely popular Salesforce integration. I also led design for new web features like Notary Signing.

NKD Wallet

After an unsuccessful search to find a hyper-simple wallet, I designed the NKD Wallet to accommodate only the essentials — a few cards and a few bills of currency — with the goal of keeping my wallet razor-thin and my pocket chaos-free.

The wallet is made of laser-cut, 1/16” thick 5052 aluminum. The edges are chamfered by hand with sandpaper. The band is a seamless elastic band. The wallets were produced in small batches and sold online under the brand name Mirror.

Salesforce

Salesforce is a pioneering cloud-based software company that provides a suite of enterprise applications focused on customer relationship management, customer service, marketing automation, analytics, and application development.

As the first product design hire for a sales-embedded engineering team, I led the design of web, mobile, and tablet prototypes for high-profile client demos. I established design systems and processes and oversaw the hiring and onboarding of new designers. During my tenure, I designed over 100 projects for well-known companies like Coca-Cola, Lululemon, Burberry, Virgin America, Academy of Art, and IDEO.
